Final Part of Filming

Image
For this final part of production, I focused on filming the sleepover montage scenes, which ended up being one of the most enjoyable parts of the entire production process. The montage showed the characters actually having fun together before anything goes wrong, so it was important that the energy felt genuine instead of forced. Filming these scenes honestly felt easy because we were actually enjoying ourselves while recording. We filmed moments of eating snacks, watching a horror movie, doing face masks, and playing around with makeup, which helped make everything look natural on camera. Since the pink pajamas theme was a big part of the overall aesthetic, these scenes really helped highlight that cozy and fun sleepover atmosphere before the story shifts into something darker. I paid attention to capturing smaller moments like laughter and casual interactions because those details help the audience connect with the characters early on. Even though the filming itself was fun, it ...

A Race Against Time

Image
During this part of production, I focused on completing some of the most important scenes for the opening, even though the order we filmed them in was different from how they appear in the final product. I decided to film the final scene first because we needed natural daylight, and it was already starting to get late in the day. Timing became really important because once the sun started going down, the lighting would not match what I wanted for that part of the scene. Filming the ending first honestly felt a little strange because I had to mentally picture how everything would connect later during editing. I had to pay close attention to continuity so that outfits, props, and positioning would still make sense once the scenes were placed in the correct order. After finishing those daylight shots, I waited until it got dark outside so I could film the introduction scene. Filming at night helped make the beginning of the sleepover feel more realistic because sleepovers normally st...

Filming Begins

Image
In the beginning, I focused on filming some of the first major scenes for the opening, especially the parts where I was setting up the sleepover on camera. These scenes were important because they helped introduce the environment and establish a normal and fun atmosphere before anything suspicious happens. I filmed shots of myself preparing the space, which helped make the sleepover feel realistic and connected to the pink pajamas theme that I wanted throughout the opening. Maneuvering the camera while also acting at the same time was honestly one of the most challenging parts because I had to constantly switch between being in the scene and checking how everything looked behind the scenes. I had to make sure the angles were correct and that the framing looked natural instead of forced. Sometimes I would record a shot and immediately watch it back just to make sure nothing looked awkward or out of place. Balancing acting while also helping with production responsibilities required a lo...

Pink Pajamas and Production Problems

Image
For this filming day, I mostly focused on getting everything ready so the set actually looked like a real sleepover instead of just someone’s house. Since the opening is about a sleepover where a girl mysteriously dies after everyone wakes up, I wanted the environment to feel normal, fun, and comfortable before anything bad happens. Our uniform/theme was pink pajamas. Seeing everyone dressed in pink pajamas honestly helped sell the idea that this was supposed to be a cute and fun night before things go wrong. I started by cleaning and organizing the house so there would be enough space for filming and so nothing distracting showed up in the background of shots. It honestly took longer than I expected because I kept noticing small things that did not match the vibe I was going for. I wanted everything to feel cozy and realistic, like an actual sleepover someone would have with their friends. I also had to make sure the actors felt comfortable when they arrived since they were goin...
