Final Task Pitch

 Pitch A: A group of girls have a sleep over, but the next morning only one of them wakes up.

Pitch B: A housewife trapped in her powerful husband’s shadow fakes his death after discovering his betrayal, stepping into the role of a widow while hiding a dangerous secret at home.

Discussion Pitch A: This idea would be interesting to film but there are some challenges that could occur. Our group thinks this pitch has a plot that is both entertaining, easy to follow along, and allows us to have fun acting. It would also be more cost effective because it involves props and costumes we all already own. However, getting all of our groupmates to become actors would be difficult because having only three characters wouldn’t flow well with the story. Another difficulty would be the amount of editing required. Editing is a way for us to be more creative and make the film more interesting, but that won't be possible if there isn’t much time to do it. This means that we would need to start filming early and manage our time wisely so there is enough left for us to do the editing without rushing.

Discussion Pitch B: This pitch is a great choice because it has an interesting plot that is naturally entertaining and allows us to step outside of our comfort zones. It has unexpected twists that will suspense organically without relying too heavily on our editing skills. Our group thinks this pinch is very elaborate but still possible. However, there would be some obstacles, such as trying to find an actor to be the husband. Our group is all females that wouldn't want to dress up like a mild aged man so our best bet would be finding a male actor. We could try to create a storyline that doesn’t involve the husband physically being in the film, but this may quickly become confusing for viewers. Another problem would be creating a two minute detailed and self explanatory back story that doesn’t give all of the mystery away.

Final Decision: Since we wanted to do a plot that would be realistic yet entertaining we decided to go with Pitch A.
