Title research: The Beekeeper (2024)

 


• What titles are displayed during the

opening sequences?

  • The movie The Beekeeper, which was researched using the website, Art of the Title, begins the title sequence by displaying the lead actor’s name and who the film was by followed by the film’s name. The titles displayed are who casted the actors, the costume designer,who composed the score,the co-producer, the editor, the production designer, the director of photography, the executive producers, the producers, the writer, and the director. The titles are a golden yellow color and fade in and out. They are displayed over historical drawings, text, photos that feature bees. They are also displayed over honey combs and everyday objects that create a hexagon shape which resembles a honey come. This creates a feeling of uneasiness.


• What images are prioritized in the

opening sequence and why do you think

they were chosen?

  • The images that the opening sequences are of historical images that show bees as the focal point. For example, a drawing of a Hindu goddess surrounded by bees. Another image it shows are the design of crosswalks and cities which resemble a honey comb shape. These images are prioritized because it shows the beekeeper as an ancient role which creates suspense for the audience. 


• How does the film establish a feeling

of the genre from the outset? Why did

you see that made you feel that way?

  • The film establishes the thriller genre through its use of music and color palette in the title sequence. The ominous music used is fast, low pitched, dark, and tense which build suspense and anticipation. It also makes the audience feel like something violent may happen. The color palette used in the background images consist of dark tones with yellow and gold accents. These colors create a serious and dangerous mood.
