• The movie, Unhinged, was researched using the website Art of the Title. The tiles displayed were the production and distribution company followed by who the film. Throughout the sequence the cast, who did the casting, who did the music,the music supervisor, the costume designer, the editors, the production designer, the director of photography, the co-producers, the executive producers, the producers, the writer, and the director. These titles are white and are displayed on multiple videos of cities and violent altercation that obstructed by black lines.

opening sequence and why do you think

they were chosen?

• The opening sequence focuses on a montage of cities, road rage incidents, and violent altercation at everyday locations such as the gas station. These images were chosen because they show the violence that could occur in everyday situations which reflect what the film is about.

• How does the film establish a feeling

of the genre from the outset? Why did

you see that made you feel that way?

• The film established the thriller genre through its montages and background audio. The montages consist of altercations that occur from everyday frustration. The background audio consists of horns, engines, and new reports about fatal incidents and societal problems. These elements create a tense atmosphere which is both threatening and unsettling. They set the mood and give some background information about the incident that will occur in the film.
