Brining the Title Cards to Life
For this part of editing, I focused on adding the title cards, which ended up being one of the more fun parts for me because it let me be creative in a way that felt really visual. Since the title cards were already drawn out on the storyboard, it made everything a lot easier because I already knew roughly where each one was supposed to go. We had also decided on the font and style we wanted, so I did not have to waste time figuring that part out. Knowing which title card went with which scene made it easier to focus on placement and timing instead of just guessing. I noticed that having done all the prep work before this stage really helped because everything felt set up and ready to go. I mostly had to concentrate on making sure the cards appeared at the right moments to match the scenes. The only tricky part was getting the timing exactly right so that each title card fit naturally with the clip it appeared over. Sometimes it took a few tries to adjust the start and end of a card so it did not feel too short or too long. I also played around with spacing and alignment to make sure the cards looked clean and professional. Even though timing was a little challenging, I enjoyed the process because it was satisfying to see the storyboard come to life on screen. Adding the title cards also helped me think more about pacing and how small visual details can guide the audience’s attention. I realized that these little elements, like font choice and card duration, actually have a big impact on how polished the final product looks. I also learned to be patient and make small tweaks rather than rushing through, which improved the overall quality. By the end of this stage, everything felt cohesive and matched the style we had planned from the start. It was rewarding to see the scenes flow smoothly with the title cards in place. Overall, this part of editing taught me that planning ahead makes creative work much easier and more fun, and even small details like title cards can really make a big difference in the final opening.
